'When I Fall in Love'

Hi, I'm Stoni.
I guess I should start by telling you all a bit about myself...
I was born on 14th March 1963 in Lewisham, London.  I was blessed with the name 'Maple Angela Thomas' which I, unfortunately, never felt fitted with my personality.  However, one day I came across a film called 'Set It Off' starring two of my favourite women 'Queen Latifah' and 'Jada Pinkett-Smith'.  Jada played an intelligent beautiful character called 'Stoni'.  I connected with this character, embodied her name and henceforth became Stoni.

Music has always been a huge part of my life.  Coming from a musical family, I have always been surrounded my musical people.  I have an intense passion for Gospel, Soul and Reggae which I believe portray my Jamaican and Cuban roots.

I began composing my own songs and was given the opportunity to sing at a small studio run by a close friend called Derek.  One day I heard his girlfriend sing and I wanted to be just like her!  She goes by the name of 'Sister Audrey'.  When she sang, the whole room stood still.  She had a beautiful voice and she sang with soul and passion.  My time with Sister Audrey and Derek really rubbed off on me and I am indebted to their love, support an encouragement.

Although I have always been a shy person, when I sing on stage it's like something or someone amazing takes over my body and mind.  When I sing soul, I feel soul.  When I sing Reggae, I am jammin.  When I sing Gospel, I feel spiritual and when I sing sexy, I ...........

I get the Biggest Buzz Going when I see everyone enjoying themselves, dancing and singing along with me.  The buzz I get from a performance can lasts for days!  It's just great!

I truly hope you enjoy my music just as much as I enjoy sharing it with you.  I feel priviledged to have been blessed with a voice and it gives me immense pleasure to share it.

Nuff love
